<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to easily determine from the outside whether the wearing condition of a labyrinth piston reaches a wear reference value or not by providing low labyrinth mountains as part of labyrinth mountains formed on the outer peripheral face of the labyrinth piston. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this labyrinth piston type reciprocating compressor, the low labyrinth mountains (23) are provided as part of the labyrinth mountains (22) formed on the outer peripheral face of the labyrinth piston (14) for enabling to determine whether the wearing amount of the labyrinth piston (14) reaches a reference value or not, in accordance with the state of the low labyrinth mountains (23).
