PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make so as not to generate printing density difference and not to bring about printing deviation at divided places even in case of printing by STB splitting. SOLUTION: In a thermal printer in which a line type thermal head composed by disposing a large number of heating elements in a line state is divided into a predetermined number of printing blocks to print, a means for variably changing times t1', t2', and t3' of applying respective strobe signals STB1 to STB3 for turning on the divided respective printing blocks are provided.
