<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit for a projector device advantageous in terms of improving durability while achieving miniaturization, reduction of weight and reduction of cost, and to provide a projector device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A frame 50 has a bottom wall 52 and a sidewall 54 erected from the circumference of the bottom wall 52. A portion of the sidewall 54 where an optical member does not extend along the sidewall 54 and where the optical member is not attached is a sidewall 60 located between a first dichroic mirror 36 and a second dichroic mirror 38. Two grooves 64 are provided at the sidewall 60. The grooves 64 extend from an upper end of the sidewall 54 located opposite to the bottom wall 52 toward the bottom wall 52, and are formed in an open state at the upper end.
