<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument and a micrometer, each having a simple and inexpensive constitution, and removing a backlash existing between a female screw and a male screw. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The measuring instrument is provided with: a precompression ring 51 having the female screw 51A screwed to the male screw 21B of a spindle 21; and a precompression spring 52 inserted between the precompression ring 51 and an inner sleeve 13 on an outer circumference of the spindle 21, and biasing the precompression ring 51 in the direction for spacing the precompression ring 51 from the inner sleeve 13. A penetration hole 51B is formed at an outer circumferential edge of the precompression ring 51, and penetrates in the axial direction of the spindle 21. An engagement pin 54 is coupled to an adjustment nut 19 screwed to the inner sleeve 13, and axially and displaceably engaged with the penetration hole 51B. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
