A blood collection device (10) provided with a pipe line for washing liquid (44), wherein the pipe line for washing liquid (44) supplies a heparin solution, which is a solution different from the blood to be measured, into a channel so as to return the blood to be measured that is in the channel into a catheter (14) located in the upstream of a blood inlet. Thus, the portion of the blood to be measured in the channel having been returned into the catheter (14) located in the upstream (i.e., the portion which has not been utilized in blood collection but uselessly flown in the channel) can be used in the next blood collection. As a result, the amount of the blood to be collected can be reduced. Moreover, the liquid to be measured is captured with the use of bubbles and the channel is washed so that no impurities remain in the channel, which prevents the liquid to be measured from contamination with impurities.
