In order to provide polymer compounds that are improved regarding the characteristics thereof compared to traditional PTFE and compounds thereof with further high-performance polymers, it is proposed that a polymer compound comprise a fraction of a fully fluorinated thermoplastic polymer material and a fraction of at least one further high-performance polymer different therefrom, selected from the group of polyether ketone, polyether ether ketone, and polyether aryl ketone and copolymers and derivatives of said polymers and copolymers, wherein the compound has a homogeneous distribution of the fractions of the polymers and of the polymer material.
