Provided are a thin film transistor array which has a high aperture ratio and a low cost, and an image display device using the thin film transistor array. In a thin film transistor array, thin film transistors each of which has a gate electrode on a substrate, a gate insulating layer formed on the gate electrode, a source electrode formed on the gate insulating layer and a drain electrode connected to a pixel electrode, and a semiconductor layer formed between the source electrode and the drain electrode are disposed in matrix, the gate electrode is connected to gate wiring and the source electrode is connected to source wiring. The thin film transistor is formed within a region of the source wiring or that of the gate wiring.
