Disclosed is a method for producing a positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which comprises: (1) a step wherein a positive electrode core member is coated with a positive electrode slurry, which contains a binder, a conductive agent, and a positive electrode active material that is composed of a lithium-containing complex oxide containing nickel and has an average particle diameter of secondary particles of not less than 8 µm, and then dried to form a positive electrode mixture layer, so that a positive electrode precursor is obtained; and (2) a step wherein the positive electrode precursor is rolled while being heated, so that a positive electrode containing not less than 3.5 g of the positive electrode active material per 1 cm3 of the positive electrode mixture layer is obtained, said positive electrode active material having an average particle diameter of secondary particles of not less than 5 µm. |
