<p>An active matrix substrate (5) to be used as a substrate for a liquid crystal panel (display panel) (2) is provided with: a plurality of source wiring lines (data wiring lines) (S) and a plurality of gate wiring lines (scanning wiring lines) (G) which are arranged in matrix; and pixels (P), each of which has a thin film transistor (switching element) (25) disposed in the vicinity of the intersection of the source wiring line (S) and the gate wiring line (G), and a pixel electrode (26) connected to the thin film transistor (25).
