PURPOSE: A foil bearing detecting apparatus is provided to reduce trouble rate of a system wherein a foil bearing is applied by determining the replacement of a foil bearing in real time. CONSTITUTION: A foil bearing detecting apparatus comprises a rotary shaft, a housing, a foil(110), a first terminal(400), a second terminal(500), and a sensor(300). The housing comprises a space accepting a rotary shaft. The foil is fixed to the inner side of the housing and is coated with an insulating layer(112). The first terminal is electrically connected to the housing. The second terminal is electrically connected to the rotary shaft. The sensor determines whether or not current flows through the first terminal and the second terminal.
