PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for synchronizing a local time are provided to perform a time synchronization process between pluralities of intelligent electronic devices by mounting a global position system to one intelligent electronic device. CONSTITUTION: User setting data and user setting programs are stored in a memory(101). A mode selection and a time synchronization period are inputted through a key-inputting part(102). A displaying part(103) displays set data according to a pre-set controlling signal. A communication transceiver(104) functions for a physical layer or the physical layer and a link layer. The global positioning system(GPS)(105) receives a GPS signal from an artificial satellite. The controlling signal(106) transmits the time information of a synchronized timer(107) to a plurality of slave intelligent electronic devices(110, 120).
