PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothbrush having an improved removal effect of dental plaque on the front surfaces of the second molar teeth, or so-called back molars, despite the toothbrush provided with a bristle-embedded section constituted of filaments having a plurality of recessed/projecting shapes on the surfaces. SOLUTION: The bristle-embedded section 4 is constituted by embedding filaments 5a which have a plurality of recesses/projections on their surfaces and filaments 5b whose surfaces are flat and smooth, on a bristle carrier 3 of this toothbrush; and the filaments with the recesses and projections are embedded in the end 6 of the bristle carrier to improve the access to the front surfaces of the second molar teeth and the cleaning property, thus effectively removing the dental plaque attached to the surfaces.
