<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dyed plastic lens fabrication method for suppressing deformation and discoloration of a plastic lens and attaining uniform and high-concentration dying without unevenness, even for plastic lenses with refractive indexes of 1.7 or greater, in particular, with respect to refractive indices of 1.7-1.8. <P>SOLUTION: The dyed plastic lens fabrication method includes a process (1) wherein a sublimation dye is applied to a substrate comprising glass; a process (2) wherein the plastic lens is installed so that the surface of the plastic lens to be dyed faces the surface of the substrate to which the sublimation dye is applied, then the sublimation dye applied to the substrate is sublimated, by heating the substrate obtained in the process (1) under a vacuum of 1×10<SP>4</SP>Pa or higher, and the sublimated dye is attached to the surface of the lens to be dyed, without impregnating it into the plastic lens; and a process (3) wherein the dye applied to the plastic lens is impregnated into the lens by heat treating the plastic lens with the sublimation dye attached which is obtained in the process (2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
