<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation noise generated when driving a rotating member of a rotating type developing device and reduce the size of a replacement opening for replacing a toner supply container, in an image forming apparatus comprising a rotating type developing device. <P>SOLUTION: A replacement opening 5 for replacing a toner supply container 40 is provided at a position so as to replace the toner supply container 40 for supplying toner to a developing device adjacent to the developing device 32 when a developing device 32 is stopped at a developing position 38.
