PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low shrinkage unsaturated polyester resin composition for molding without releasing odor from the molded article during production and heat molding/curing of the material for molding and when the molded article is used (at ambient temperature or at use temperature), and generating no VOCs (volatile organic compounds); and to provide a molded article using the same. SOLUTION: Using an unsaturated polyester resin having a higher molar ratio of an unsaturated dibasic acid than that of a saturated dibasic acid, and using a diallyl phthalate as a polymerizable monomer and a styrene copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 50,000-500,000 as a shrinkage reducing agent, a low shrinkage unsaturated polyester resin composition for molding and a molded article thereof are obtained, which exhibit low shrinkage corresponding to that of the conventional styrenic BMC or SMC, and generate no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) nor specified substances having bad odor.
