PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To development and provide an agent acting above all selectively on proliferated Propionibacterium acnes among skin indigenous microorganisms, without acting on aerobic microorganisms, to make the balance of skin indigenous microorganisms healthy, that is to develop and provide the agent for normalization of skin indigenous microorganisms. SOLUTION: The agent for normalization of skin indigenous microorganisms includes an extract of Coptis japonica as an effective ingredient and further use the same as a dermatological external agent or a cosmetic, to normalize the skin indigenous microorganisms.
