MAINTENANCE METHOD FOR PASSENGER CONVEYOR

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method for a passenger conveyor capable of easily and quickly performing maintenance regarding a handrail guide without breaking a railing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The maintenance method for the passenger conveyor includes a first procedure for removing a length adjustment device 5; a second procedure for removing a part of the handrail 4 from the handrail guide 3 at a border part 11 of an installment position and a non-installment position of the handrail guide 3 installed on an upper doorway 7; a third procedure for subsequently driving the handrail 4 toward a lower doorway 8; and a fourth procedure for forming a handrail removal part 4a where the handrail 4 is removed from the handrail guide 3 only in a predetermined range by fitting the removed handrail 4 to the handrail guide 3 at the border part 11 again. The handrail removal part 4a makes the handrail 4 traveling such that a footstep 1 is moved toward the lower doorway 8 and successively performs maintenance of a handrail guide portion 3a opposed to the handrail removal part 4a.
