PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect a welding failure in seam welding. SOLUTION: A welding failure detection method includes a pulse detecting step for detecting the current value in seam welding with a welding pulse unit, and a failure judging step for judging the failure in seam welding by comparing the current value of the welding pulse detected in the pulse detecting step with a threshold value to be independently set for a plurality of welding pulse units or a plurality of welding pulse groups.
