PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet motor of higher torque, with improved productivity. SOLUTION: The permanent magnet motor includes a rotor part 22 which comprises a rotor core 56 where magnetic sheet material 55 is stacked and a permanent magnet 58 held in an opening 57 formed at the rotor core and is supported rotatably around an axial line, and a stator part 21 which encloses the rotor part. In the opening, a rib 60 which halves the opening along a radial direction of the rotor core is provided. At the radial outside part of the rotor core in the opening, a straight part 63 is formed in the circumferential direction of the rotor core from the rib, and a chamfer 64 is formed between the end part of the straight part and the end part in the circumferential direction of the opening. When the permanent magnet is halved through the rib and held in the opening, it contacts each of the straight part and the chamfer at one point at the outside part of the rotor core in the radial direction in the opening and in the vicinity of both ends of the rotor core in the circumferential direction.
