<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions, apparatuses and methods useful for concurrently performing in high throughput a large number of biological or chemical assays using repeated arrays of probes. <P>SOLUTION: A combination includes a surface having a plurality of test regions. At least 2 of the plurality of test regions, in a preferred embodiment at least 20 of the test regions, are substantially identical, wherein each of the test regions includes an array of general anchor molecules. The anchors are associated with bifunctional linker molecules. The bifunctional linker molecules contain each a portion which is specific for at least one of the anchors and a portion which is a probe specific for a target of interest. The resulting array of probes is used to analyze the presence or test the activity of one or more target molecules specifically interacting with the probes. In a preferred embodiment, a sample to be tested is brought to contact with the combination after the sample has been treated by a nuclease protection procedure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
