PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device for allowing a user to select and manage any playlist. SOLUTION: Management units and a high-order management layer for managing all pieces of registered playlist information are added, and the management units are treated equally to integrated information indicating the reproducing range of all AV data. The integrated information is treated based on a user definition in the added management layer. In the integrated information, any reproducing range included in a low-order layer can be registered.
