PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document feeding device and an image forming device capable of attaining enhancement of productivity by optimizing an operation timing at a position of a leading end of a subsequent document after conveying a former document and making a processing capacity speed fast. SOLUTION: The document feeding device includes: a first document detection means for detecting the document arranged between a document setting position of the document setting part 2 and a separation part; a document detection means for detecting the document arranged close to a separation position in a downstream side of the separation part constituted by a feeding belt 9 and a separation roller 10; a pick-up conveying motor 118 for driving a pick-up roller 7; and a feeding motor 102 independent from the pick-up conveying motor 118 for driving the feeding belt 9. When a plurality of sheets of the documents are fed, operation of the pick-up roller 7 is controlled according to detection of a rear end of the former document by the document detection means S1.
