<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that allows smooth attachment/detachment between an image forming apparatus body and a peripheral device and movement thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary member 21 rotating in a direction of an arrow 23 is provided in a body frame 19a of the image forming apparatus body 1a, and an engaging groove 22 engaging with the rotary member 21 is provided on a docking pin 12a. An inner diameter (radius) of the engaging groove 22 is equal to or larger than the radius of the rotary member 21. When the docking pin 12a is inserted in a direction of the arrow 38, the rotary member 21 pushes up the tip end of the docking pin 12a while rotating. Furthermore, the docking pin 12a is pushed to engage the rotary member 21 with the engaging groove 22, thereby completely connecting the image forming apparatus body 1a to the peripheral device 3a. When the peripheral device 3a is detached from the image forming apparatus body 1, the docking pin 12a is lifted up while the rotary member 21 rotates along the shape of the engaging groove 22, thereby smoothly detaching the peripheral device from the image forming apparatus body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
