PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing polyester film for a can body material coating in which, when an external surface side of a metal plate is coated with a printing polyester film and a protective coating layer is formed, many characteristics of an adhesive are improved, and which can give a color tone which further enhances the metallic feeling of an image, and to provide a method of manufacturing the film, and a can body using the method. SOLUTION: Printing polyester films 1a and 1b are heat-bonded to a metal plate for a can body material through a thermosetting resin based adhesive layer 4 to form a protective coating layer. A printing layer 3 which is composed of a resin composition containing a pigment is formed on one surface of a substrate polyester film 2, and the thermosetting resin based adhesive layer 4 in which metal powder is dispersed is formed on a printing layer 3. The thermosetting resin based adhesive layer 4 includes: 0.1 to 5 wt.% of an isocyanate compound which is not blocked in a mixture of a polyester resin and a blocked isocyanate compound; and 20 to 70 wt.% of an aluminum powder which is a flake and in which a size of a surface direction is 15-50μm in average.
