<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded article excellent in mechanical characteristics as compared with those of the conventional resin compositions using kenaf. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This resin composition contains a pineapple-originated fiber and a thermoplastic resin. Further, it is preferable to contain a compatibilizer prompting the compatibilization of the pineapple-originated fiber with the thermoplastic resin. Here, as the compatibilizer, at least one compound selected from a modified olefin-based compound with an acid anhydride, a silane-based compound, a silanol-based compound and an isocyanate-based compound can be used.
