<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the situation that a cartridge 33 is damaged because it is sandwiched between an opening 100B and an image forming unit 200 by setting the image forming unit 200 not to be closed upon cartridge replacement. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming unit 200, the cartridge 33 is moved to an attachment and detachment position B where ejection thereof is possible from the opening 100B of a unit body 100A, and is temporarily fixed and held at the attachment and detachment position B with click feeling.
