<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of using light radiated to a plurality of optical modulation elements. <P>SOLUTION: This optical switching device 1 radiates light source light from a light source 2 to a space optical modulating means 4 having a plurality of chips 9 having a plurality of optical modulation elements 8 made of electrooptical crystal material arranged in a predetermined state, drives and controls the plurality of optical modulation elements 8, and turns on or off the emitted light of the space optical modulating means 4.
