PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel self-inking rubber stamp type roller stamp which can be practically used by constantly starting the rotation of a stamp roller from a set position and stopping the rotation of the stamp roller at the set position, by a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: A spiral spring 27 is interposed between the side of the central shaft 10 of the stamp roller 1 and the side of a side wall 2 pivotally supporting the stamp roller 1, an elastic force is applied to the spiral spring 27 in a direction where respective locking projections 25 and 26 are engaged by the elastic force of the spiral spring 27, and an elastic force in a winding direction is applied to the spiral spring 27, in such a manner that the stamp roller 1 is rotated in a direction where the respective locking projections 25 and 26 are disengaged. In such a state that one rotation of the stamp roller 1 is made, locking on the side opposite to the respective locking projections 25 and 26 is performed to constitute the end of the rotation of the stamp roller 1 and when a rotational force for the stamp roller 1 is released, the stamp roller 1 is returned and rotated up to a start position by the elastic force of the spiral spring 27.
