PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding device of a vehicle seat capable of preventing any foreign matters from being caught between a fitting tool to be inserted in a lower rail and an upper rail without increasing the number of components. SOLUTION: The sliding device 1 of the vehicle seat comprises a lower rail 2, an upper rail 3 slidably attached to the lower rail 2, and a fitting tool 6 inserted in the lower rail 2 so as to fit the lower rail 2 to a floor surface 19. The lower rail 2 has a bottom part 2a which extends in the sliding direction and is formed of one member. The bottom part 2a has a first area 2a1 having a through hole 2a3 with a shaft part 6a of the fitting tool 6 being inserted therein, and a second area 2a2 which is adjacent to the fitting tool 6 in the sliding direction, and higher than the first area 2a1. The second area 2a2 is substantially as tall as a head part 6c of the fitting tool 6, and has the thickness substantially as large as that of the first area 2a1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
