<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marker (namely selection marker for esophagus cancer treatment) for selecting esophagus cancer treatment, a marker (namely diagnostic marker for prognosis of esophagus cancer treatment) for diagnosing prognosis of esophagus cancer treatment, a kit used therefor, a method for selecting an esophagus cancer treatment using the same, a method for diagnosing prognosis of esophagus cancer treatment, a therapeutic agent for esophagus cancer and a treatment method therefor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The marker for determining whether an esophagus cancer is treated by a radiochemotherapy or by a surgical therapy or for determining risk of cancer recurrence after surgical treatment of esophagus cancer as a first selection comprises IGFBP3 gene and/or protein.
