PURPOSE: A kick scooter is provided to minimize the risk of accident and allow a rider to propel the kick scooter with a small force. CONSTITUTION: A kick scooter comprises a platform(10), a front wheel, rear wheels(40), a handle, a push plate(110), a rack gear(130), a pinion gear(140), a one-way clutch(150), a driving gear(160), a transmission gear(170), and a driven gear(180). The push plate is pivotally connected to the back end of the platform and revolves upward. The rack gear is connected to the push plate with a connection link(120) and carried back and forth. The pinion gear is pivotally installed in the platform and meshed with the rack gear. The one way clutch is installed to interlock with the pinion gear so as to be provided with power during the forward rotation of the pinion gear. The driving gear revolves together with the one-way clutch. The transmission gear is pivotally installed in the platform and meshed with the driving gear. The driven gear is meshed with the transmission gear and installed in the rear axle of the platform.
