PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a prismatic secondary battery is provided to shorten a fabrication process using a base plate including an electrolyte inlet with a specific structure and to reduce a failure rate. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a secondary battery including an electrode assembly, which is built in a prismatic can, comprises the following steps: mounting an electrolyte inlet(202) of a base plate(200) on the opened upper end of the prismatic can; mounting the electrode assembly on the inner part of the prismatic can; combining the base plate with the can; injecting an electrolyte through the electrolyte inlet; and sealing the electrolyte inlet by melting a melting surplus part of the electrolyte inlet. |
