PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crossing rod opening/closing device capable of effectively preventing an accident at low cost. SOLUTION: The crossing rod opening/closing device includes: a crossing rod; a motor 4; an angle detection part 7; and a control part 5. The crossing rod is rotated between a crossing position and an open position by the drive of the motor 4. The angle detection part 7 detects that the angle of the crossing rod with respect to a reference surface becomes a predetermined value, and outputs a detection signal S1 to the control part 5. The control part 5 controls the drive of the motor 4. In rotating the crossing rod from an open position to a crossing position, and inputting the detection signal S1, the control part reduces maximum torque which is generated when the rotation of the motor 4 is restrained while keeping the rotation speed of the crossing rod.
