<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle controller for achieving proper control by preventing deterioration of vehicle behavior. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A vehicle controller 1 is provided with a vehicle control ECU 2 for controlling follow running with respect to a preceding vehicle. The vehicle control ECU 2 is provided with: a set inter-vehicle distance arrival spot calculation part 22 for calculating a spot where a distance between a vehicle and the preceding vehicle becomes a set inter-vehicle distance; a vehicle behavior state prediction part 23 for predicting the vehicle behavior at the spot where the distance between the vehicle and the preceding vehicle becomes the set inter-vehicle distance; and a vehicle behavior stability determination part 24 for determining whether or not the predicted vehicle behavior becomes unstable. The vehicle control ECU 2 changes the control characteristics of follow running at the spot where the distance between the vehicle and the preceding vehicle becomes the set inter-vehicle distance and after that according to the result of the prediction of the vehicle behavior state prediction part 23.
