<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron group metal-containing electrode catalyst hardly causing aggregation and having high alcohol decomposition activity. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode catalyst is prepared by heating a mixture of an iron group metal complex in which iron, cobalt, and nickel are coordinated with specific polymer having a molecular weight of 1,000 to 500,000 and carbon powder, under reducing atmosphere. By preparing the electrode catalyst like this, carrying metal is strongly fixed on the carbon powder, and the iron group metal having small particle diameter can be carried. The electrode catalyst is carried on a conductive carrier. As the conductive carrier, carbon paper, carbon cloth, or a metallic porous body can be used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
