<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and an imaging range checking member which can visually check the imaging range, in an easy manner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging device is provided with an imaging range checking hood 10, which is mounted around the periphery of the device body and is fitted in a position depending on the periphery of the device body and by which the imaging range can be visually checked from the front side of the lens, when the imaging range is checked. The imaging range checking hood 10 has a tubular body which is of a rectangular cross-section and a partition in which a lens hole 11 is formed and which is abutted against a lens holder, when it is mounted around the periphery of the device body. Straight lines 13 and 14, which intersect at a right angle in the center of the lens hole 11, are indicated on the front side of the partition; a first crossing angle between virtual surfaces connecting upper and lower edges 18 and 19 on the front side of the tubular body and the straight line 14 and a second crossing angle between virtual surfaces connecting right and left edges 16 and 17 and the straight line 13 are formed, at angles which substantially match the angles of view of the imaging range.
