摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive throttle device and correctly metering an auxiliary air volume passing through an auxiliary air passage in detail. <P>SOLUTION: A shaft valve 28 formed in the cross section of a sub-throttle shaft 20 and composed of a solid body 34 and a communication space 36 is formed in the middle of the auxiliary air passage 26 communicating with an intake passage 12. With the position of the shaft valve 28 as a boundary, the axial direction of an upstream auxiliary air passage 30 located proximal to the upstream side of the shaft valve 28 and the axial direction of a downstream auxiliary air passage 32 located proximal to the downstream side of the shaft valve 28 are arranged to be bent at an angle &theta; from the same linear direction. In a state that the communication space 36 communicates with both the upstream auxiliary air passage 30 and the downstream auxiliary air passage 32, communication cross sectional areas of the communication space 36 and the downstream auxiliary air passage 32 are gradually increased according to an increase in the turning angle of the shaft valve 28.
