<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor in which a hollow space of a piston pin does not store therein refrigerant gas. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the hermetic compressor, a gas venting groove 127 is provided on an outer circumferential surface of a piston 114. One end of the gas venting groove 127 communicates with an opening of a piston pin hole 125 and the other extends in a direction of an anti-compression chamber 112 of the piston 114. The gas venting groove 127 communicates with inside of a hermetic vessel 101 at least in or after the middle period of a compression stroke. This does not allow refrigerant gas to be stored in a hollow space 132 of a piston pin 121, thus making it possible to reduce vibration. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
