PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can perform fine adjustment to a desired imaging magnification while making the time required for adjusting the magnification shorter than before. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an optical zoom means 2, an electronic zoom means 6, and an imaging magnification changing means 11 for operating them. The imaging magnification changing means 11 has a home position where it is located during non-operation, and a plurality of switch positions provided, respectively, on the telephoto side and the wide angle side. Assuming the switch position to which switching is made at first from the home position is a first switch position, and the position that is connected via the first switch position is a second switch position, the optical zoom means 2 is driven with a predetermined step interval at the first switch position regardless of the magnification of the optical zoom, and the electronic zoom means 6 is driven with a finer step interval than that of the optical zoom at the second switch position.
