Disclosed is a highly efficient vehicle air-conditioning system capable of ensuring required cooling and heating capacity. Also disclosed is an automatic driving control method therefor. The vehicle air-conditioning system comprises an HVAC unit (2) that discharges air of which temperature is controlled by a refrigerant evaporator (6) and a second refrigerant condenser (7); a heat pump cycle (3) including a refrigerant compressor (8), a refrigerant switching unit (11), a first refrigerant condenser (12), a first expansion valve (14), and the refrigerant evaporator (6) that are sequentially connected, a second expansion valve (19) and a refrigerant/coolant heat exchanger (20) being connected in parallel with the first expansion valve (14) and the refrigerant evaporator (6), the second refrigerant condenser (7) being connected in parallel with the first refrigerant condenser (12); and a coolant cycle (4) including a coolant circulating pump (21), an exhaust-air heat recovery instrument (22), a motor/battery (23), an electric heater (24), and the refrigerant/coolant heat exchanger (20) that are sequentially connected, the exhaust-air heat recovery instrument (22), the motor/battery (23), and the electric heater (24) being selectively usable as heat sources. |
