Multi-layer casing is designed for manufacturing packaging containers esp. of rectangular cross-section and employs individual webs (2a, 2b, 2c) of paper, fabric, plastic, and film which are of different width in the longitudinal direction of the casing. The outermost layer (2d) comprises a label web which overlaps the casing. The webs are formed around a core (8) and are glued together by their leading surfaces and laterally with the neighbouring webs so as to produce a high strength container. This forming is effected using pressure rollers (9a) and suitably contoured corner forming pieces (10a). |
