<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head in which a Pb content is sufficiently reduced, and contactness of a common electrode and a heating resistor is sufficiently superior. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The thermal head 5 includes a substrate 7, a glaze layer 3, the common electrode 4, the heating resistor 1 and lead electrodes 2a, 2b. The common electrode 4 contains conductive material made of metal and a glass frit made of a glass phase and a crystal. The content of the glass frit in the common electrode is 3 to 14 mass%. The content of the crystal in the glass frit is 2 to 10 vol.%. The glass phase contains 10 to 23 mass% of SiO<SB>2</SB>, 25 to 48 mass% of BaO, 11 to 21 mass% of ZnO, 10 to 20 mass% of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 2 to 12 mass% of CaO, and 2 to 11 mass% of TiO<SB>2</SB>.
