PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint for smoothly performing fine operation. SOLUTION: This universal joint 1 has a first bearing unit 2 fitting two ball bearings 22 and 23 between a shaft member 25 and an outer race housing 24 and rotatably supporting the outer race housing 24 to the shaft member 25, and a second bearing unit 3 fitting two ball bearings 32 and 33 between a shaft member 35 and an outer race housing 34 and rotatably supporting the outer race housing 34 to the shaft member 35. A female screw part 24c is arranged in the outer race housing 24, and a male screw part 35b is arranged in the shaft member 35, and the male screw part 35b and the female screw part 24c threadedly engage with each other so that rotary shafts P1 and P2 of the first bearing unit 2 and the second bearing unit 3 cross at right angles.
