<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera module of such a type that a diaphragm plate is inserted between adjacent lenses, obtaining satisfactory optical performance without exerting any influence on the stacking accuracy of optical elements including lenses. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this camera module 100, a plurality of lenses 20, 40 for imaging on an image pickup element 61 are inserted in a lens barrel member 10, and the diaphragm plate 30 is inserted between the adjacent lenses 20, 40. The adjacent lenses 20, 40 are respectively provided with diaphragm gap forming surfaces 22B, 42A formed to abut to each other, thereby forming a diaphragm storing gap P between both lenses, and the diaphragm plate 30 whose thickness in a free state is smaller than the gap P is inserted in the diaphragm storing gap P.
