METHOD OF DECODING CODE, OPTICAL PULSE TIME SPREADING DEVICE, OPTICAL BRANCH INSERTION DEVICE, AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize an optical pulse of single wavelength, and to prevent influence of the variation of the wavelength of the optical pulse even when the wavelength of the optical pulse of the single wavelength is varied with the variation of ambient temperature or the like.

SOLUTION: An input optical pulse 49 is divided into first to U-th input optical pulses 51-1 to 51-U by an optical branching unit 50. The first to U-th input optical pulses are input to first to U-th optical pulse time spreaders 28-1 to 28-U, respectively, to output first to U-th chip pulse trains 29-1 to 29-U comprising N chip pulses from first to N-th chip pulses sequentially arranged on a time axis by being subjected to time spreading. The intervals between unit FBGs arranged adjacently to one another in the p-th optical pulse time spreader 28-p and the Bragg reflection wavelength of the unit FBG in the p-th optical pulse time spreader are set so that spectra of the first to U-th chip pulse trains are set to be different from one another.
