PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member for maintaining a seizure resistance, without reducing strength in a resin layer, while adding a much solid lubricant to the resin layer. SOLUTION: In a cross head bearing 6, the resin layer 12 composed of a resin binder and the solid lubricant of 40-60 vol.% in the total quantity, is arranged on a surface of a bearing alloy layer 11. The ratio of an average particle size of graphite and molybdenum disulfide being the solid lubricant, the ratio of an adding quantity and a parameter indicating the total surface area of the solid lubricant, satisfy a predetermined relationship, so that, while adding the solid lubricant much to the resin layer, the seizure resistance can be maintained without reducing the strength in the resin layer.
