The method involves connecting a wired interface of a peripheral device e.g. universal serial busmass storage device (300), with a wireless adapter (600), where the wired interface corresponds to a wired interface of a data processing device (100). The peripheral device is connected to the data processing device via a wireless interface (610) of the wireless adapter. A protocol e.g. universal serial busprotocol, of the peripheral device is emulated such that the peripheral device is imitated with respect to the wired interface of the peripheral device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an arrangement comprising a wireless adapter (2) a computer program having instructions to perform a method for connecting a peripheral device to a data processing device.
