<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of recording images of different sizes without performing complicated work. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a digital camera comprising a solid-state imaging sensor 5 including photoelectric conversion elements 51R, G, B and photoelectric conversion elements 51r, g, b arrayed in a square grid shape, respectively. The digital camera comprises: an imaging element drive section 10 for performing first drive to read signals out of the photoelectric conversion elements 51R, G, B and second drive to read signals out of the photoelectric conversion elements 51r, g, b, separately to one time of imaging; a digital signal processing section 17 for generating image data S1 from first signals read out of the photoelectric conversion elements 51R, G, B and generating image data S2 form second signals read out of the photoelectric conversion elements 51r, g, b; and an external memory control section 20 for recording the image data S1, S2 on a recording medium 21.
