<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redundant system, a control apparatus, and a control method, which can improve redundancy of a redundant system. <P>SOLUTION: A virtual tape apparatus 1 includes a monitored apparatus having redundant configuration and a PCU 106 for controlling a PDU 107 for supplying power to the monitored apparatus. The monitored apparatus manages status code indicating an operational state, and returns status code as a response to a request by the PCU 106. The PCU 106 requests status code to a controlled apparatus operating as an operation system, determines whether the status code has been returned within a predetermined time period, determines whether the operational state indicated by the status code is normal if a response for the request has been returned within the predetermined time period, and shuts down power supply to the monitored apparatus if the operational state is not normal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
