<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate for mass spectrometry which makes it possible to easily and less expensively identify and quantify a component to be analyzed that is contained, even at a low concentration, in the environment, foods, industrial products and the like without resorting to use any complicated interface and while the application range thereof is not restricted to the fields of the synthesis of organic compounds or drug discovery, and a thin layer chromatography-mass spectrometry method and apparatus using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plate 30 for mass spectrometry onto which a component to be measured that has been separated on a thin layer chromatography plate is transcribed from the thin layer chromatography plate and then subjected to mass spectrometry.
